The Art of Transparency
I love how NVC enables me to strip off the layers of protection and feel safe to reveal what is really going on for me with another person. I’ve had so many beautiful experiences of becoming intimate with people by carefully choosing the words I use, honing in on what is really essential in my experience and expressing that in a way that connects us. I love hearing that from others, and I love exloring this work together, seeing how we can go deeper together, learning to connect heart to heart.
There’s an aliveness that can come when we explore this, a new way of experiencing ourselves that I find fascinating. As a facilitator I seek to live close to this aliveness, and thus model what I’m talking about.
This can involve taking risks, being willing to show myself fully as a human being, rather than someone who is supposed to have all the answers, or be somehow removed from the process of exploring, getting lost, finding new answers.
I’m looking for juicy connection, where we are able, with skillful expression, to come to suprising new ways of being together, sharing what is important to us, showing up more fully than before.
In this workshop we will work with both structure and open space. We will have times of sharing in pairs, and in the group, and there will some work on empathic listening skills to support this. But there will also be times when where I will bring no set agenda… so that we can all take responsibility for what we are learning, and to respond to the life that arises in us in new and creative ways.
I am planning to run an Art of Transparency weekend in Stroud in the early autumn. Watch this space.
